A Search for German Jewish Family Roots:
The Impact of Answers
by Jeff Kelly Lowenstein
Join us for an exploratory evening into the Lowenstein family’s history. Jeff’s father and uncle were part of the Kindertransport, a British government-sponsored programme that provided refuge to about 10,000 Jewish children from Central Europe in the aftermath of the Kristallnacht pogrom. The talk follows his journey to uncover and connect to the family’s history.
Jeff Kelly Lowenstein is an investigative journalist, author and the former David Laventhol/Newsday Visiting Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
